Origin Vilcabamba 2026
A global convergence for regeneration, rooted in the upper Catamayo river basin.

Origin is a worldwide social movement uniting communities across every continent to catalyze a cultural shift toward ecological restoration. The movement brings together artists, philanthropists, regenerative farmers, and activists with a shared purpose.
A central figure in this movement is Dr. Zach Bush. He is a triple board-certified physician and scientist who spent 17 years in academic medicine studying biochemistry and cellular biology. His work bridges modern medicine and regenerative agriculture, highlighting the direct connection between living systems, soil health, and human well-being.
A guiding force behind the movement is the Sacred Alliance, a council of Indigenous Elders representing diverse lineages across the globe. This group includes wisdom keepers from Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, the Lakota Nation in the USA, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Scotland, and Bali. These elders serve as cultural guardians and spiritual anchors for the global gathering. Their presence ensures the movement remains rooted in ancestral knowledge, reciprocity, and a respectful relationship with the Earth.
A Synchronized Moment, An Ongoing Movement
October 17, 2026, marks the synchronized global moment of Origin, uniting approximately 120 events worldwide. This date serves as a catalyst. Origin is designed as an ongoing social movement. The gathering on this day ignites continuous regenerative action, community building, and ecological restoration that extends far beyond a single event.

The Vilcabamba Gathering:
Honoring the Water Cycle
The Origin movement recognizes water, food systems, and ecosystem health as interconnected pillars of planetary regeneration. In Vilcabamba, our gathering focuses specifically on the vital role of water within this living network.
The Agua Ayni collective will lead this local convergence. Our discussion centers on the critical importance of recharging the planet's aquifers. We will explore the essential role of ancestral practices in water conservation and care. These practices serve as tangible regenerative actions to prevent fires, landslides, and floods, which are becoming increasingly common worldwide.
Environmental disruptions are frequently attributed to global warming and deforestation driven by corporate and governmental irresponsibility. We acknowledge these systemic challenges. Recent scientific discoveries also offer a grounded perspective of hope. Researchers now emphasize the short water cycle. This is a natural process that communities can actively regulate by increasing tree cover and returning water to the subsoil. The impact a local community can have on recovering its own water cycle is profound and highly actionable.
Join the celebration in Vilcabamba
We invite you to join the Regenerative Bioregion team of the upper Catamayo river basin and the Agua Ayni collective. Together, we will join the global celebration on October 17th. We will briefly discuss how the water cycle is essential to the health of a valley, and we will then do a short pilgrimage to the river for a prayer of gratitude for the healthy rivers in our community.
Your presence contributes to a living global network dedicated to ecological restoration.
